ABOUT LEO
Leo Villares is an anglo-brazilian writer-director who loves telling stories with both pen and camera. He loves horror and comedy, always striving to blend the two into creepy, surreal stories.
Leo wrote and directed a short film called ‘The Farm’, starring Tom Stourton (Poor Things, Barbie, All My Friends Hate Me). which won the Audience Prize at Brest European Film Festival, Best Fiction at Novella Film Festival and Best Comedy at FOCUS Wales and Copenhagen. His debut feature script, Coyote, was shortlisted for the BFI’s Early Development Fund. He recently produced ‘Crab No.7’, a short film which has been selected for the BFI London Film Festival.
Leo also loves directing music videos, relishing the opportunity for bold visual experimentation. His latest music video for Lowswimmer has been shortlisted for a New Generation Award at the 2025 Berlin Commercial Awards, nominated for a UKMVA and made the 2025 Shiny List. With his production company Picloc, Leo has made commercial work for Sky, Kraft-Heinz, AliExpress, and Segway.
